Webinar “Fish or Fishing rod? Support for families in need. Experience of the charity fund “Vzamen” in Arkhangelsk”
November 25, 2020 at 3 p.m. (Moscow time) the webinar “Fish or Fishing rod? Support for families in need. Experience of the charity fund “Vzamen” in Arkhangelsk” will be held. Olga Shevela, the project manager of the fund “Vzamen” (“In return”), will tell how volunteers can not only help families to cope with a difficult life situation but also to encourage their development.
Fund “Vzamen” supports low-income families with children and large families. It cooperates with city dwellers, organizations, authorities, and becomes a bridge between donators and beneficiaries.
“Initially families come to us to for the support in a difficult life situation, when they cannot provide their children with basic necessary things (food, clothes). Even though there are no full-time staff in the organization, fund “Vzamen” has received the title of Benefactor of the Arkhangelsk region. It is thanks to volunteer team, people of the city and organizations that support the fund. Every charity project is the response to the request of beneficiaries transformed into systematic work”, Olga Shevela says.
Together with Olga Shevela we will discuss how to be not only a donor for families but to stimulate their development, encourage their moving forward on their own; how to provide opportunities and not just solve problems.

The webinar is held within the international LIVE conference “Sustainable development: people, support, cooperation”. The conference is held in September-October 2020 and gives an opportunity to meet remarkable representatives of NGOs from Russia, Finland, Norway and Denmark, to get acquainted with the best practices of NGO social services.
