Human Rights Academy (HRA) has been working in the field of education in human rights and democratic citizenship (HRE/EDC) since 2008. The main activities are trainings in HRE/EDC for various groups in society (youth/students, asylum seekers, teachers, journalism and law students, NGO activists, volunteers, social workers, others). Development of interactive teaching methods in HRE/EDC is another priority. HRA is member of DARE network (Democracy and Human Rights in Europe). The main goal of our work is to increase awareness of and respect to international human rights through education. HRA has an extensive competences in teaching in human rights and democratic citizenship (HRE/EDC) by using interactive teaching methods; in the development of methodology for HRE/EDC, in written and digital form. Citizenship Education for all: effective methods of teaching, Russia
Education in human rights and democratic citizenship for teachers in civics, law- and pedagogy students, NGO activists in the north-west of Russia. Focus on human rights, democratic decision-making prosess, non-discrimination and interactive teaching methods. Project period, 2018-2019
Domestic and gender-based violence in Bulgaria
Implementation of the national study on gender-based violence in order to prevent it and improve the situation of the victims. Special focus - on Roma minority. The study has included a national representative survey, a survey among Roma, semi-structured questionnaires among police officers, social workers, focus-group discussions with Roma community representatives, interviews of social workers at shelters for children and adults, interviews of victims. Project's outcome: Victim Support Model and policy recommendations. Project's period: 2015/16.
