Finland-Russia Society was founded and started its activities on 24.3.1993 (originally Finland-Soviet Union -Society, founded in 1944). Our main activities are: -to build cooperation between Finnish and Russian citizens and organisations -to develop cultural, environmental and economical relations between Finland and Russia -to provide consultation and services for individuals and for the needs of public sector and economy
NGO Media and environmental projects (MADPRO) acts as one of environmental NGOs in Lithuania working with environmental protection and related issues. Main activites and projects includes wastewater treatment sector, renewable energy sources, inovative interactive solutions for presenting information for public, production of video materials for TV and related media. MADPRO has close relations with all NGOs working in environmental sector in Lithuania and abroad. From the 2007 MADPRO has implemented different public awareness campaigns related to various environmental issues.
Sudurnes Science and Learning Center is a research center with emphasis on natural science and related subjects. Southwest Iceland Nature Research Institute and The University of Iceland´s Research Center in Sudurnes are part of the center. Sudurnes Science and Learning center is situated by the sea and close by are shores and wild nature, ideal for research. The center offers high quality research facilities, accommodation for researchers and three exhibitions: nature gallery, historical gallery and an art gallery. The research facilities include unique, clean seawater and possibilities to conduct research in ecotoxicology, behavioural ecology, fisheries and ornithology. The facilities are open to researchers and university students.
Nyheimar Knowledge Center was established as an umbrella organization for various institutions and agencies working in education, research, innovation and culture. Its central role is to facilitate cooperation between the various sectors within and as a part of the Municipality of Hornafjordur. Another vital objective is to promote closer cooperation of individuals, businesses, organizations and public entities with a special emphasis on the integration of culture, education, innovation and research. Nýheimar Knowledge Center has an experience in organizing educational events of various kinds, both for residents and student groups. There is a particularly great experience in organizing events such as conference meetings, educational lectures and forums. Members of the research center have extensive interdisciplinary knowledge and experience, especially in the field of environment and education.
Husavik Academic Center is a center for adult education and lifelong learning in Northeast of Iceland. HAC has as well a researching department working mostly with rural researching, with main focus on the Northeast of Iceland. HAC has participated in several international projects related to education, culture and rural researching.
Our organization was registered on March 13, 2009. We specializes in the implementation of projects in social and economic spheres. Our fields of interest are: - Mental health promotion programmes; - Prevention of HIV/AIDS and other dangerous infection diseases; - Prevention of the use of psychoactive substances; - Forming of anticorruption mentality; - Sustainable development; - Gender equality; - Interethnic relations; - Well-being of families with children; - Children’s rights protection; - Support to children in the situation of their parents’ divorce. Our main target groups are: - Children and adolescents; - Parents; - Teachers; - Officials working with children; - Relevant key persons. During these years in our programs and projects took part over than 8000 children and 4000 adults (parents, teachers, key persons, etc.). Geography of our projects spread from the Republic of Karelia to Murmansk and Murmansk region, Saint-Petersburg, Leningradskaya oblast and Moscow. With the participation of NGO "Sodeistvie" the following projects have been implemented: 2010 - "Prevention of HIV infection among girls 15-19 years old (pupils of 8-11 grades of pilot schools in Petrozavodsk)" with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland; - The exchange program for NGOs of the North-West of Russia and the Nordic countries, funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers; 2011 - "Formation of anti-corruption mentality among older schoolchildren in pilot schools in Petrozavodsk", funded by the Matra-KAP program by the Consulate of the Netherlands; - holding an international gender conference in Petrozavodsk in March 2011. "Through new ideas for gender equality," funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers; - Participation in 2011 in the exchange program for NGOs in the North-West of Russia and the Nordic countries, funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers, during which ANO experts visited partner organizations in Finland and Iceland; - the implementation during 2011 with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland project "Prevention of HIV infection among girls 15-19 years in the Republic of Karelia"; - the project "Support to the development of the early prevention system for children in the Republic of Karelia" 2011-2012, with the financial support of the Ministry of Health of Norway; - Participation in 2012 in the exchange program for NGOs of the North-West of Russia and the Nordic countries financed by the Nordic Council of Ministers, with the project "Nordic countries: Innovative Education Towards Green Growth and Sustainable Development", during which AIE experts visited partner organizations in Finland, Sweden and Denmark; - the project "Support for the establishment of an early prevention system for children of the North-West of Russia", implemented in 2012-2013. with the financial support of the Ministry of Health of Norway; - the project "Strong family: evidence-based models of family work for welfare in Finland and the Republic of Karelia", implemented in 2013-2014 as part of the ENPI cross-border cooperation program "Karelia"; - Participation in 2013 in the project "The rights of children - human rights: Partnership for children in the Nordic countries towards the well-being of children and their families", implemented within the framework of the program of the Nordic Council of Ministers "Program of experience exchange for non-profit organizations and young leaders of Russia and the Nordic countries »; - the project "The National Idea in Unity of Nations", implemented in 2013 as part of the action plan of the program "Petrozavodsk - the city of public partnership: interaction of the Administration of Petrozavodsk urban district with the public sector; - the project "Prevention of surfactants - working with the family for the well-being of the child", implemented in 2014 with the financial support of the Ministry of Health of Norway; - the project "Nordic Experience in Childhood and Child Rights: The Future Begins Now", implemented in 2014 as part of the Nordic Council of Ministers program "Experience Sharing Program for Non-Profit Organizations and Young Leaders of Russia and the Nordic Countries"; - the project "Interethnic relations in the mirror of the media", implemented in 2014 as part of the action plan of the program "Petrozavodsk - the city of public partnership: the interaction of the Administration of Petrozavodsk urban district with the public sector"; - the project "Support to the establishment of an early prevention system for children of the North-West of Russia 2014-2015", implemented with the financial support of the Ministry of Health of Norway; - the project "Medicine, education and art on the protection of health from HIV and tuberculosis", implemented in 2014-2015 and in 2016-2017. with the financial support of the Ministry of Health of Norway; - the project "Prevention of surfactants - working with the family for the well-being of the child 2015-2016", implemented with the financial support of the Ministry of Health of Norway; - The project "Support for the improvement of family well-being in rural areas of the Republic of Karelia: the development of sheep breeding: A View from the Netherlands - 2016", implemented with the financial support of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in St. Petersburg;
Awareness Center is active in a broad range of environmental activities with special emphasis on chemical substances. Awareness Center has access to a variety of tool to evaluate and predict properties of chemicals and their environmental behaviour. Awareness Center provides technical support, participates in research- and development activities og conducts training and educational tasks. Awareness Center is active in identification, planning and audit of projects and participates in projects. Awareness Center may well undertake the resposibility as project leader. Awareness Center has a broad national and international network and participates in project in Denmark as well as abroad. Environment is found high on the agenda and Awareness Center is devoted to actions that support a sustainable development in the local, regional and global society today as well as in the future.
Interfolk, Institute for Civil Society is a Danish non-profit association and private research institute, founded in 2008. The aim is to promote humanistic and democratic learning capacities in a civil society context. The activities of Interfolk include research, surveys, development projects, courses, seminars, debate activities and other cultural activities - in a Danish, Nordic and European context. Interfolk’s main area of project activity is in adult education, arts and culture and promotion of the learning capacity in civil society contexts. Interfolk has since 2008 been coordinator for 4 Danish development projects, 8 Nordic projects supported by Nordplus Adult, Culture Point Nord as well as the Nordic Council of Ministers NGO programme for the Baltic Sea region and the open programme for cooperation with Russian NGOs; and 7 EU projects supported by the former Grundtvig programme and current Erasmus+ programme and the Creative Europe programme. All these Nordic and EU programme can to some extent include cooperation with Russian NGOs. Below three typical projects are presented.
CENTRE FOR THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PSKOV REGION is a non-profit independent regional public organization based in Pskov, Russia. We undertake a wide range of programs designed to bring tangible improvement of the practice of sustainable development of Pskov Region. The Center co-operates also with different international organization, especially on the issues of trans-boundary cooperation. WHAT WE DO In pursuit of its mission, the Center focuses on following functions: 1. Acting as a informational resource on the practice of sustainable development: • Making existing work on the practice of the sustainable development accessible to practitioners; • Cooperating with network of Agenda 21 in Western and Eastern Europe; • Developing informational resources on the practice of sustainable development. 2. Providing policy and programs assistance to the Pskov region and local self-government bodies of power in supporting of sustainable development: • Informing of population about ecological situation and improvement of ecology, by realisation of the programs, projects and researches. • Increasing of an educational and cultural level, by realisation of the educational programs and projects. • Improving of a social climate, by realisation of the social programs in the area. • Providing monitoring and sociological researches on realisation of the rights of the citizens on reception of the complete and independent information. • Improvement of an economic situation and investment appeal, by realisation of economic researches and programs. 3. Encouraging youths to participate in public and political life of the region. In its work the Center directed to the number of activities in several areas: 1. Environmental Area: • Conducting of the informational projects to inform people of the region about very special ecological situation in the Pskov Area. • Organising special events to improve the current ecological situation. 2. Development of the Local Self-Government as the grass-root democratic institution • Conducting of the training seminars for the representatives of municipalities of the Pskov Region. • Consultation on the project development for the representatives of local authorities. 3. Educational projects • Conducting of the training seminars for the pupil ho participated in election companies. The Center is always open for cooperation and works basing on the principle of transparency. We invite to cooperation citizens of the Region, regional and local authorities, NGOs and international organizations. Our main goal is to help in arranging of the constructive dialog between people and power for better improvement of the Pskov Regional sustainable social-economical development.
