Development factory

Development Factory (former Ventspils Youth Council) is a youth organization (association), which uses non-formal education methods to help develop skills and competences of young people. We organize various types of events – training, seminars, camps, informative campaigns and workshops for young people (13-25 years old) about topics that are important for them –career, business, educational possibilities, health and healthy lifestyle, participation, politics, mass media, leadership and teamwork etc. Ventspils Youth council especially pays attention to develop youth leaders’ skills therefore promotes youth creativity, self-initiative, organizing ability, argumentation and public performance experience. Youth council participates in youth interest advocacy at local level being represented in Ventspils Council Youth Committee and other committees and work groups and at national level being a member of “The National Youth Council of Latvia” We have experience with different types of projects starting from local funding, up to EU cross-boarder projects and long term Erasmus+ and solidarity corps projects.

The Institute of Baltic Studies

The Institute of Baltic Studies (IBS) is an independent, non-profit policy research and development think tank in Estonia, that aims at assisting the development of public policy in the Baltic Sea region by providing high-quality socio-economic analysis. Founded in 1996, IBS aims with its activities to the increase of knowledge and understanding of the development challenges and opportunities facing Estonia in particular and Baltic Sea region in general. The Institute of Baltic Studies has carried out research and development projects in cooperation with the government, academia, enterprises as well as third sector organisations from all over the Europe. Besides projects funded by national, private and third-sector actors, we have also carried out over twenty European Union 5th, 6th and 7th Framework Programme projects, including participation in H2020 projects. The focus of our activities has increasingly shifted to policy support activities, but we continue to provide practical inputs for various public and private initiatives.

Women's Issues Information Centre

We are one of the most experienced social organisations in Lithuania. We started our work in 1996 and the mission of our strong team of professionals is to enlighten and inform the society through gender equality questions, form gender politics and propagate its development in Lithuania. Since 2012 we are working as a Specialized Assistance Center providing support for victims of domestic violence in Lithuania, we also administrate Vilnius department of 24/7 Women helpline (Pagalbos moterims linija). Our Vision: Not a single person can be discriminated because of their gender. Our goals: We aim for gender equality in Lithuania We ameliorate women position in public and private life We improve the environment of equal gender relations We cooperate closely with other non-governmental organisations, state-owned institutions and organisations. We propagate gender equal opportunities in all life aspects and aim to ensure that there would be adequate attention in all political, juridical and social reforms, programmes of development. We carry out programmes, aimed at demolishing violence against women, and block the way for female trafficking, coordinate family and work obligation, encourage female enterprise, female and male equal opportunities. We organise enlightening, society informing campaigns. We provide women with free juridical consultations. In the National Equality and Diversity Forum we represent discrimination due to gender base. We are European Lobbying Organisation‘s, Women and Men Equal Opportunities‘ Commission Lithuanian women's association, Nacional network against poverty members and we lead the coalition „No to Violence! “. We have more than 20 years of experience implementing various projects with national, EU funding, funding from Nordic Council of Ministers, U.S. embassy and other donors.

Regional Public Organization of Social Projects in the Sphere of Population's Well-being Stellit (NGO “Stellit”) was founded in 2002 in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. We are conducting activities in the field of addictive and sexual behaviour, prevention of violence and sexual exploitation of children, trafficking, the spread of HIV and STIs. NGO Stellit combines the development and implementation of evidence-based public health and social interventions and academic research projects. Stellit’s staff (12 people) are specialists trained in the Psychology, Sociology and Public Health. Four staff members have a PhD (Psychology or Sociology). NGO “Stellit” is a member of ECPAT International.

Human Rights Academy

Human Rights Academy (HRA) has been working in the field of education in human rights and democratic citizenship (HRE/EDC) since 2008. The main activities are trainings in HRE/EDC for various groups in society (youth/students, asylum seekers, teachers, journalism and law students, NGO activists, volunteers, social workers, others). Development of interactive teaching methods in HRE/EDC is another priority. HRA is member of DARE network (Democracy and Human Rights in Europe). The main goal of our work is to increase awareness of and respect to international human rights through education. HRA has an extensive competences in teaching in human rights and democratic citizenship (HRE/EDC) by using interactive teaching methods; in the development of methodology for HRE/EDC, in written and digital form. Lifestory - National Oral History of Latvia

NGO "Lifestory" works on the border between social researchers, scholars and the community, uniting professional researchers in oral history and volunteers. The association unites over 60 active members, who participate in fieldwork, workshops and training seminars. The cooperation between researchers and members of society has already resulted in the creation of the Latvian Oral History Archive. This collection consists of more than 4 500 life stories/biographic interviews – many of these life stories have been documented in the Latvian communities abroad, as well as in the ethnic communities in Latvia. We provide resources to all fields of academic research - sociology, social and cultural anthropology, linguistics, cultural and social history, ethnology, folklore, psychology, and it is also open for the wider community. The important task of the Association is to promote the skills and competence of its members in the form of adult education – learning and teaching interview work and biographical research methodology. The oral history collection gives a voice and a sense of empowerment to individuals, ethnic groups, and minorities, and helps them define their place in society and history.

SYMPA was founded in 2007 in cooperation with the Swedish organization SIPU International (now FCG Sweden) with an aim of creating a community of young professionals able to effect change in public administration in a future democratic Belarus. SYMPA’s mission is to create and support channels of communication for public administration professionals and keep them informed about principles and practices of modern good governance, to involve the target groups in educational and exchange programmes in order to build their capacity in public administration and instill the value of civil participation, and to conduct research in the field of public administration. We work to improve the quality of public procurement, to increase participation in decision making at the local level, and to increase transparency and accountability in public spending. Research in public administration in Belarus is one of SYMPA’s strategic directions. For this reason, BIPART - Belarusian Institute for Public Administration Reform and Transformation was established in 2011 as SYMPA’s research branch. BIPART’s mission is to promote the reform of the public administration system in Belarus in accordance with modern principles and practices. BIPART unites people interested in improving the quality of governance in Belarus. SYMPA is a member of NISPAcee and the OECD Global Network of Schools of Public Administration.

Network of Estonian Nonprofit Organizations, NENO (or Vabaühenduste Liit in Estonian) is the single and largest Estonian organization uniting public benefit nonprofit organizations. NENO is an advocacy organization focusing on a sustainable civic space and additionally to that we also focus on capacity building and civic awareness. NENO is a membership organization created for the implementation and protection of the common interest of Estonian public benefit nonprofits. NENO currently (Oktober 2018) unites 101 active and operational public benefit nonprofit organizations in Estonia from all fields, both associations and foundations. At the same time, our information network involves approx. 4000 organizations. NENO’s mission is to give voice to and advocate on behalf of Estonian public benefit organizations and its work is dedicated to the development and promotion of civic action and civil society in Estonia.

Union of Associations Multikultura

Multikultura is a union of different institutions dealing with arts and education and ICT technology. Multikultura specializes in exploitation of eLearning, multimedia education technology applying such methods like internet platforms, training films, educational television, and video games. Our programmers and graphic designers produce computer games based on a professional software UNITY. We create three-dimensional and two-dimensional computer games in the interactive contents, such as visualizations and animations. It allows us to create applications for web browsers, personal computers, video game consoles and mobile devices such as phones, tablets. The documentary films produced have been awarded at different European film festivals and are now used by many schools in Europe as educational tools. MULTIKULTURA promotes equal opportunities of education & employment & combat marginalization of social groups, in accordance with the Erasmus+ the document Opening up Education of 25th September 2013. QUALITY SYSTEM USED: Annual evaluation, internal and external of projects as well as testing of functionality of produced e-Learning tools and educational networks in real environment. STAFF: Multikultura employs 25 staff members. The union consists of different institutions dealing with arts and education and ICT technology. Some of the staff members of MULTIKULTURA are also a teachers, such as Krystyna Chołoniewska (Creative writing at the Jagiellonian University), Krzysztof Ridan (Teacher of ICT technology – Film director), Wioletta Sośniak (Teacher of ICT technology), Marek Chołoniewski (Music professor at the Jagiellonian University), Michał Zabłocki (President of the Union of Polish Writers - Poet) - therefore the cooperation of Multikultura with adults group in art training activities is possible and easy to arrange.
